NY – 09/16/17 – Making Moves Dance Festival 2017 – Jamaica Performing Arts Center

Making Moves Dance Festival is an annual dance celebration held at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center (JPAC) and designed to promote new and emerging dance companies based in New York City. The festival encourages choreographers to take on and perform bold ideas with a progressive/contemporary nature, and heavily emphasizes the authentic expression and representation of cultures and languages.

Making Moves aims to be a unique opportunity for young dance companies to present original works of high artistic merit in a public platform. The presentation occurs in two parts: an afternoon outdoor presentation which encourages public participation and an evening stage presentation which features commissioned original work by emerging choreographers.
